ENOBIO 20

Enobio® is a wearable, wireless electrophysiology sensor system for the recording of EEG. Using the superb Neuroelectrics Cap, Enobio 20 is ideal for medium-density recording research applications requiring the full 10-20 system (e.g., sleep studies). It comes integrated with an intuitive, powerful user interface for easy configuration, recording and visualization of 24 bit EEG data at 500 S/s, including Spectrogram and 3D visualization in real time of spectral features. It is ready for research or clinical use as well as telemedicine using our NUBE cloud system for experimental data collection and organization. In addition to EEG, triaxial accelerometer data is automatically collected. You can also use a microSD card to save data offline in Holter mode. Enobio is a CE medically certified product. It is currently classified as an investigational device under US federal law.

Applications

Brain Computer Interface applications
In order to build real-world BCI applications it is essential that the subject be both comfortable and behaving naturally in their typical environment. Enobio has been designed with these constraints in mind and provides a platform for the development of BCI applications away from the lab. Possible BCI paradigms include Motor Imagery ERD, SSVEP and P300 among others. Enobio is currently being used by many BCI researchers and is compatible with BCI software systems such as BCI2000, OpenVibe, PureData and Processing. We also provide feature extraction interfaces in our C and Matlab APIs. See our wiki for more information.
Basic research
Any scenario where electrophysiological data is needed but difficult to record in a natural way can benefit from Enobio technology. Record spontaneous EEG or ERPs on the go – without the long wires. Using 20 channels you can move from electrode space closer to source space (e.g., using Laplacian processing or Cortical Mapping).
Medical application development
Large amounts of data need to be collected from many subjects in natural environments to develop medical applications. Enobio 20 provides a platform for full10-20 EEG recordings that can be used anywhere by anyone as often as necessary to record medical grade data quickly and reliably. Data integrity, versatility and ease of use are the keys to medical application development and our NIC and cloud based NUBE data collection systems provide the means to achieve them efficiently. Clinical applications include sleep monitoring and epilepsy.
Neuromodulation
EEG Neuromodulation is the process of modifying brain state via feedback-based training. By visualizing brain activity, the user can learn to modify it. Recent work provides evidence for the use of neuromodulatory therapy in the treatment of a variety of disorders. We provide a powerful neurofeedback software tool, Neurosurfer, compatible with our systems. Neurosurfer integrates EEG data, brain stimulation and immersive Virtual reality game all in one platform.
User affective state
User emotional state can be derived from physiological signals including EEG and ECG. Enobio provides a platform for research and development in affective computing and smart systems.
Biometry
Enobio can be used as a physiological biometry platform to authenticate users based on EEG and ECG signatures. Physiological biometric techniques are naturally robust against spoofing attacks and can provide user state information while authentication takes place.

Software

Enobio 20 is designed to work with:
NIC (the Neuroelectrics Instrument Controller engine) controls all our Enobio EEG systems. NIC provides real time access to EEG data (quality check, raw data, filtered data, spectral features, scalp maps and more) and is available for both OS X (Mac) and Windows platforms.
To browse and manipulate saved data you can use NIC’s sibling, the NIC Offline software.
The NUBE cloud management system allows you to organize your experiments and automatically upload your data to the web
