NIC (the Neuroelectrics Instrument Controller engine) is the software that controls both StarStim tCS stimulator and our Enobio 8 and 20 Channel EEG systems. NIC provides access to EEG data (raw, power spectra, filters, scalp maps) as well as configuration of stimulation sesssion parameters and rendering of associated Electric fields.

Neuroelectrics has recently released a new NIC software version, 1.2.

The features in the NIC 1.2 release include:

StarStim:

Montage definition, independent control of currents at each electrode (tDCS, tACS, tRNS or linear combinations)
Save and load montage templates
Check impedances prior launch; Visualize currents and Voltages online; Online impedance check
Program sessions including PreEEG, Stimulation and PostEEG configuration for easy experimental setup
3D Electric Field (EF) simulations - Choose your tCS montage, visualize your 3D EFs instantly on the cortex or white matter surfaces

See also our video for stimulation configuration

Enobio and StarStim

EEG and accelerometry (3 axis) raw data
EEG filters (standard EEG bands or custom band)
PSD, Spectrograms
Real-time EEG 3D Scalp Map
New EEG online power features representations - Power Bars, Temporal Evolution of a feature, Improved Resolution of Power Spectrum Diagram & Spectrogram
New continuous online EEG signal quality indication (measuring a combination of the following tree factors: signal offset, signal noise, and signal drift)
SD card support for EEG/accelerometry recording in "holter" mode
Stream EEG data over TCP/IP. Receive markers via TCP/IP for ERP related studies
Control NIC and your device with Matlab using our MatNIC toolkit
